Sustainability

Patricia and Michael have been key advocates of sustainability over the years both in their professional and personal lives and it was a natural choice to establish this as a fundamental principle of MYA. We have often found that key sustainability measures are omitted not because of a lack of desire on the client’s part to battle climate change, but because they haven’t been presented a more holistic understanding of the overall value of such measures outwith the direct impact they have on the building. It is MYA’s aim to combine engineering and economics to paint a full picture of the true cost, accounting for an increasing number of indirect impacts such as social value, productivity and local economics.

We have a policy to limit our travel emissions by working and attending meetings remotely wherever possible.

Since relocating to Margate in Kent in 2022, Patricia and Michael have commenced their own route to net zero plan, including the renovation of their 1930’s property, significant waste reduction and greater self-sufficiency on their food supply. We will look to provide key milestone updates when they happen.
